ALL WORK
Vydia
Music Technology Platform
Vydia began as a specialized video distribution platform. As the company expanded, it pivoted to become a comprehensive music technology platform — merging two distinct content types into a unified, intuitive experience.

The Challenge
This platform change introduced significant complexity: merging two distinct content types (video and audio) into a unified, intuitive user experience while preserving seamless workflows for creators who handle both formats. Metadata management, release scheduling, rights handling, analytics, and delivery pipelines had to scale across vastly different partner requirements and user expectations.

RESEARCH & DISCOVERY
Understanding the Problem
As Lead Product Designer, I kicked off the project by leading in-depth stakeholder interviews with our internal video and audio distribution teams. We mapped their key pain points with existing third-party audio platforms, uncovering recurring frustrations around metadata handling, workflow inefficiencies, and limited insights. I then directed a thorough competitive audit of top players in the audio distribution space, dissecting interaction patterns, user flows, onboarding sequences, and data visualization approaches to identify best-in-class elements and opportunities for differentiation. Building on these insights, we ran collaborative workshops asking a core question: "How can we make your daily work dramatically easier?" The result: a more intuitive, powerful audio distribution experience built specifically for our creators and our teams.
DESIGN PROCESS
From Insight
to Interface
The design process followed a four-phase approach, iterating rapidly between research insights and design execution. Each phase built upon validated learnings from the previous stage.
Discovery & Audit
Conducted a comprehensive heuristic evaluation of the existing Vydia dashboard. Mapped 14 critical creator and label workflows, identifying 23 key usability friction points that slowed content delivery and increased errors.
Information Architecture
Restructured the entire navigation model from a flat, cluttered hierarchy to a contextual, task-based architecture aligned with real creator workflows.
Visual Design
Developed a refined design system with over 120 components tailored to Vydia's media-centric dashboard. Built a modular, atomic-inspired system enabling flexible customization and white-labeling for partner labels.
Testing & Iteration
Conducted continual usability testing with internal teams, creators, and editors throughout the process. Achieved a 95% task-completion rate on the final prototype, with a 56% reduction in average upload time.

Measurable
Outcomes
The redesigned Vydia dashboard launched with strong positive reception from internal teams, creators, and label partners. The overhaul transformed a fragmented experience into a seamless, unified platform for audio and video distribution—driving higher user satisfaction, faster workflows, and measurable business gains in operational efficiency, content quality, and partner ecosystem performance.
We are a progressive media company powered by the best-in-class content distribution and analytics software by way of our Vydia acquisition. This is why I fought so hard to buy a company like Vydia, because of the tech stack that they have that makes it almost like an enterprise software company.
